Cellock is the technical coordinator for XR4ED: eXtended Reality for Education

Cellock is proud to announce that is the technical coordinator of the Innovation project “XR4ED”: “eXtended Reality for EDucation” an Innovation Action under the Horizon Europe Program funded by the European Union.

The total budget for the project is over EUR 7,5 million and together with 10 more European institutions :

CYENS, NUROGAMES, KAINOTOMIA, SCICO, F6S, KONNEKTABLE Technologies, CRI Group, Infinitivity Design Labs (IDL), Software Imagination & Vision (SIMAVI), Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC),

will all develop a one-stop-shop and an open marketplace for Extended Reality (XR) applications, for learning, training, and education. Cellock will be responsible for designing the technological requirements & the platform development and enhancement for creating a sustainable on-demand education platform, the XR4ED.

The overall objective of the XR4ED project is to mobilize the EdTech and XR community from the EU and provide a central access point for existing solutions. The project will place Europe in a leading cut-edge position, while ensuring European values for privacy, ethics and create opportunities for calls of participation, and opportunities to get involved, sometime in 2024.

Over the next three years, Cellock will design and implement the XR4ED platform. It will function as a springboard for the cultivation of an ever-growing ecosystem of stakeholders interested in the use and development of XR applications in all sectors of education.

Cyprus hosted the kick-off meeting of the project on 19th and 20th of January, 2023, at Cyens premises, where all partners met in person and discussed the projects’ tasks, setting up the first steps for a successful start-up.
